Fourteen new students worked over several months to complete the basics of the Rokushakubō (六尺棒).
This versatile 6' tall staff was used by samurai to defend castles and by monks to dispatch of trouble on the road.
Nowadays, the tools would include a rake, a broom, a shovel, a pole, a tree branch, etc., etc.
